Freedom is life. Discuss this with reference to ‘Chandni’ and ‘I Want Something in a Cage.’
cbse class 7 english solutions, Answer :
It is right that freedom is life and slavery is a curse. Not only human beings, but animals and birds also crave for freedom. If a bird is kept in a cage it can never feel happy even if it is tied with golden chains. In the story ‘I Want Something in a Cage’ the stranger buys the doves and sets them free immediately thereafter.

He did so because after having remained in prison for so long, he realised the importance of freedom. In the same way for Chandni freedom is life. She was aware that she might be killed. Even then she preferred to go to the hills and the green fields.

Chandni Complete hindi translation

Part -I

Abbu Khan… ..her Chandni. (Page 43)

1. Once upon…. …………..each goat. (Page 43)

2. Poor Abbu……………………………………….the hills. (Page 43)

3. Whenever one .. ………mystery. (Pages 43-44)

4. One day.. …………with joy..(Page 44)

5. The new…. ……………….again. (Pages 44-45)

Part-II

Like other…….. ………………..Chandni. (Page 46)

6. Every morning…… …..that rope! (Page 46)

7. She stopped…. ………………..I’ll die. (Page 46)

8. Now Abbu …….. …………….longer rope. (Page 46)

9. “No, thank …… ……..the wolf.”(Page 46)

10. Fight the ……. ……………..time.(Page 47)

11. To all ……………to freedom. (Page 48)

Part-III

Chandni went…………. ………….fight.(Page 49)

12. Chandni reached ………….. life. (Page 49)

13. That day…… ……………..by herself. (Page 49)

14. The sun… ….felt scared. (Page 49)

15. Should she. …………..was his.(Page 50)

16. The wolf.. ……………or chance.(Page 50)

17. The fight….. …………………..mosque.(Pages 50-51)

18. The first ….. …….the winner.”(Page 51)
