Different sabhas has separate committees such as garden sabha, temples sabha, irrigation etc. The eligibility of members has been described in an inscription of Uttaramerur, which are as under:

  2. They should have their own home
  3. They should be between 35 to 70 years of age
  4. They should have knowledge of the Vedas; and
  5. They should be well-versed in administrative matters and honest.

Rashtrakutas were initially the subordinates of the Chalukyas in Deccan. About 850, Dantidurga, a Rastrakuta chief performed a ritual hiranya-garbha and overthrew the Chalukya overlord.
