Hindi Translation Of The Poem

1. Once I saw a little bird
Come hop, ‘hop, hop,
I cried, “Little bird,
Will you stop, stop, stop?”

एक बार मैंने एक छोटी चिड़िया को
फुदक-फुदककर आते देखा।
मैं चिल्लाया, “छोटी चिड़िया,
क्या तुम रुकोगी, रुकोगी?”

Word-Meanings : Saw (सॉ ) – looked, देखा Hop (हॉप) – moving up and down, फुदकना Cried (क्राइड)-appeaded in loud voice, जोर से निवेदन किया। Stop (स्टॉप) – to stand still, रुकना।

2. I was going to the window
To say, “How do you do?”
But he shook his little tail
And away he flew

में खिड़की के पास उसका हालचाल
पूछने जा रहा था।
किंतु तभी उसने अपनी छोटी पूँछ को हिलाया
और उड़ गई।

Word-Meanings: Window (विंडो) – an opening in the wall to get air and sunlight, खिड़की। Shook (शुक) – made a repeated movement, हिलाया। Tail (टेल) – the long back part of animal’s body, पूँछ।
