Summary In English

This poem is based on a tree. One bird is eating a fruit. One of its seeds fall down on the ground. Some days later the rain falls and little plant grows up from that seed. Slowly the plant grows into a big tree. Its branches have become long. There are a number of insects. They start crawling on the tree. The tree has fruits and green leaves. Crows, squirrels and monkeys all have fun on the tree. There is a swing on the tree as well. The tree has so many things.

यह कविता एक पेड़ पर आधारित है। एक चिड़िया फल खा रही है। इसका एक बीज नीचे जमीन पर गिर पड़ता है। कुछ दिनों के बाद वारिश होती है तथा बीज से एक पौधा निकल आता है। धीरे-धीरे पौधा एक बड़े पेड़ के रूप में बदल जाता है। उसकी टहनियाँ लंबी हो जाती हैं। बहुत सारे कीड़े-मकोड़े पेड़ पर रेंगना प्रारंभ कर देते हैं। पेड़ में हरे पत्ते और फल निकल आते हैं। कौए, गिलहरियों तथा बंदर पेड़ पर आनंद मनाते हैं। पेपर झूला भी है। पेड़ के पास बहुत सारी चीजें हैं।

Hindi Translation Of The Poem

1. A little bird sees
Ripe fruit on our tree
And eats a tasty berry.
The bird flies tall
And a berry seed falls.

एक छोटी चिड़िया ने
पका फले पेड़ पर देखा
उसने स्वादिष्ट बेर खाया।
और ऊपर उड़ चली
बेर का बीज नीचे गिर पड़ा।

Word-Meanings: Little (लिटल)-small, छोटा। Ripe (राइप) – ready for being eaten पका हुआ। Tasty (टेस्टि) – Yummy, स्वादिष्ट। Berry (बेरि) a small fruit with stone, गुठली वाला एक छोटा फल। Flies (फ्लाइज़)-moves through the air, उड़ती है। Seed (सीड)-a small hard part of fruit from which plant grows, बीज़।

2. The rains have come
Hurry! Let’s run.
Clouds, rain and sun…
Our plant is born, a little one.

वर्षा आ गई
जल्दी-आओ भागो।
बादल, वर्षा और सूरज…
प्यारा नन्ही पौधा उग गया।

Word-Meanings: Hurry (हरि) – to do something quickly, जल्दबाजी से काम लेना Clouds ( क्लाउड्स)—a mass of small drops of water in the sky, बादल।

3. Now a tree,
With branches long,
Crows and bird-song,
Crawling ants and spiders’ webs,
Caterpillars with tiny legs,
Rich green leaves, life aplenty.

लंबी टहनियों के साथ अब
पौधा बड़ा हो गया।
कौओं और चिड़ियों के कलरव से भरा,
रेंगती चींटियों तथा मकड़ी के जालों से घिरा,
छोटी टाँगों वाले कीड़ों से भरा।
तथा जीवंत घने हरे पत्तों से भरा।

Word-Meanings: Branch (ब्रांच) – a long part of the tree, टडनी। Crawling (क्रॉलिंग) – moving with the help of hands and knees, रेमना। Spider (स्पाइडर) – an insect, मकड़ी। Web (वेब)-the home of the spider like a net, मकड़ी का जाला। Tiny (टाइनी)-very small, बहुत छोटा। Caterpillar (केटरपिलर)-an insect, तितली। Aplenty (ऐप्लेंटी)-in a large number, बहुत सारा।

4. The tree has fruits,
Some big, some small,
Let us pluck them
But do not fall!

कुछ छोटे तथा कुछ बड़े फल
पेड़ पर लटके हैं।
चले उन्हें तोड़ते हैं।
किंतु उन्हें गिरने मत दो।

Word-Meanings: Pluck (प्लक) – to pull with sudden force तोड़ना। Fall ( फ़ॉल) – come down, गिरना

5. Crows perch, squirrels run,
And see the monkeys Having fun!

कौए का बसेरा, गिलहरियों का भागना,
और देखो बंदरों का
मस्ती करना।

Word-Meanings : Perch (पर्च) – to sit on the branch of the tree, बेठना। Squirrel (स्क्वीरेल)-a small grey animal with long thick tail, गिलहरी।

6. Strong branches,
With pretty swings,
Our beautiful tree
Has so many things.

मजबूत शाखाएँ जो
सुंदर मजबूत झूले से सजी हैं.
हमारे सुंदर पेड़ पर
बहुत सारी चीजे दिखती हैं।
