प्र० 1. निम्नलिखित प्रश्नों के उत्तर लगभग 30 शब्दों में दें
(i) पृथ्वी पर दो प्राकृतिक संदर्भ बिंदु कौन-से हैं?
उत्तर :
पृथ्वी पर दो प्राकृतिक संदर्भ बिंदु उत्तरी ध्रुव और दक्षिणी ध्रुव हैं।(ii) बृहत वृत्त क्या है?
उत्तर :
विषुवत वृत्त को बृहत वृत्त भी कहा जाता है। यह सबसे बड़ा वृत्त है तथा ग्लोब को दो बराबर भागों में बाँटती है। अन्य सभी सामांतर रेखाएँ विषुवते वृत्त से ध्रुवों की ओर बढ़ने से आनुपातिक रूप से आकार में छोटी होती जाती हैं।(iii) निर्देशांक क्या है?
उत्तर :
अक्षांश एवं देशांतर रेखाओं को सामान्यतः भौगोलिक निर्देशांक कहा जाता है, क्योंकि ये रेखाओं के जाल का एक तंत्र बनाती हैं, जिस पर हम धरातल के विभिन्न लक्षणों की स्थिति को प्रदर्शित कर सकते हैं।(iv) सूर्य पूर्व से पश्चिम जाता हुआ क्यों दिखाई देता है?
उत्तर :
पृथ्वी पश्चिम से पूर्व की ओर घूमती है, यही कारण है। कि सूर्य पूर्व से पश्चिम की ओर जाता दिखाई देता है।(v) स्थानीय समय से आप क्या समझते हैं?
उत्तर :
किसी देश का स्थानीय समय वहाँ के प्रमुख याम्योत्तर पर होने वाला समय होता है। यानी किसी स्थान के देशांतर पर जब सूर्य ठीक ऊपर होता है तो दोपहर के 12 बजे होते हैं। यह उस स्थान का स्थानीय समय होता है।प्र० 2. अक्षांशों एवं देशांतरों के बीच अंतर स्पष्ट करें।
