एक दंतकथा एक ऐसी कहानी होती है जिसमें जीव जंतु पात्र होते हैं, जो एक संदेश देती है। यह कविता एक चींटी तथा एक झींगुर के बारे में है जिसमें एक महत्त्वपूर्ण विचार का स्पष्टीकरण है; जो चौपायों के लिए भी सत्य है और दोपाये (मानवों) के लिए भी सत्य है। निश्चित रूप में आपने दो पैर वाला एक झींगुर देखा होगा।

1. A silly young ….. …………….. “of me ?” (Page 21)

एक युवा मूर्ख झींगुर, जो गर्मियों व वसंत के सुनहरे धूप भरे, गर्म और खुशनुमा महीनों में गाने का आदी था, उसने शिकायत करना शुरू कर दिया। जब उसने पाया कि उसके अपने घर में उसकी अलमारी खाली थी, और सर्दी आ पहुँची थी। बर्फ से ढके मैदान पर एक भी टुकड़ा मिलने वाला न था; किसी भी वृक्ष पर कोई भी फूल न था न पत्ता था। “ओह! क्या होगा. मेरा?” झींगुर बोला।
